Faced with the wave of ideas on sex and human rights sweeping from Western societies, gradually spreading throughout Taiwan, and influencing our national policies on marriage and family structures, we are witnessing the deterioration of sexual health, an increase in sexually transmitted diseases among teenagers, and a dramatic decline in the birth rate. These are just some of the negative consequences harming the normal operation of society. However, the government’s proposed response policies, such as expanding the scope of artificial reproduction, surrogacy, anti-discrimination laws, and gender-self identification represent potential serious threats to the physical and mental health of women and children.
